Uttrakhand Culture

नमस्ते! You are heartily welcome to Uttarakhand culture and traditional ways.
Today we will introduce you to the customs of Uttarakhand.
Let’s talk about some facts related to the culture of Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand is a hilly state. It is very cold here, so the houses here are concrete. The walls are made of stones. Stones are laid on top of old houses. Nowadays people have started using cement. The houses here are made suitable for all seasons, which are cold and hot according to the weather. Every month some festival or the other is celebrated here. On the pretext of festivals, dishes are made from time to time in most of the houses. The dishes here are so delicious that they cannot be mentioned. Pulses like Gahat, Rains, Bhatt etc. grown locally are used. In ancient times, Mandua and Jhungora were local coarse grains. Now their production is very less. Now most of the people eat only market food. Along with agriculture, animal husbandry is done in almost all the houses. There are fewer people and more animals in the houses here. The grains produced at home are sufficient for a few months only. People living near the towns also do milk business. The people of the hills are very hardworking. The work of cutting the hills and making terraced fields also shows their hard work. Most of the workers in the hills are also educated, even if they are less educated. Due to this, the literacy rate of this state is also much higher than the national average.
